Physician assistants and nurse practitioners in Louisiana

In recent years there has been tremendous growth in the medically related professions of Louisiana. Two such groups are physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The following article presents an overview of the development of these two fields and their geographic distribution in the state relative to Health Professional Shortage Areas.
