[The physiology and molecular pathology of cell receptors]

A brief review about the following issues of cell receptors is presented: concept historical evolution, the increasing amount of scientific work on this topic, their broad an heterogeneous influence on cellular physiology, the chemical and functional shared by most of them, and their growing impact on human pathology.
