Abstract:
Recent progress in analytical procedures (chemotaxonomy, molecular biology) and its contribution to the development of microbial Systematics and Identification have been examined. The benefit that these techniques have gained from the technological progression experienced by computer hardware and software (artificial intelligence and numerical taxonomy) and the improvement in tools for the study of characteristics and interrelationships between microorganism are also reported.
