Sick bay attendances by Royal Navy women at sea
Abstract:
Sick bay attendances in a warship have been monitored over a three-month period whilst on deployment. Women made 22% of all attendances. This was a significant reduction from over 50% in the ship's first mixed manned deployment. The attendance rate per 100 persons at risk was 180 for females and 69 for men. Female specific problems accounted for 21% of their attendances.
