Summary

Cryptococcus neoformans var. neoformans secretes protease and utilizes protein as a nitrogen source. Supplementing Yeast Carbon Base (YCB) medium with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and polypeptone (Pp) significantly enhances fungal growth and proteolytic activity.
