[Ultrasonography in examinations for urinary tract anomalies]

Using the ultrasound grey scale and real-time method at the Nephrology Department of Sarajevo's Children's Clinic, 90 children with different kidney diseases were checked. Among these patients, there were 22, i.e. 24.4% children with anomalies of urinoexcretory system as follows: 10 i.e. 45.46% with double or cleft excretory system, 6 i.e. 27.27% with vesicourethral reflux, 5 i.e. 22.73% with unilateral obstruction of pyelouretheral junction and 1 i.e. 4.54% with uni/lateral obstruction of vesicourethral junction. Ultrasonography has become a significant technique in diagnosing and monitoring both kidney structures and excretory system. In these war circumstances, by applying this method we have succeeded in simplifying and speeding up the diagnosing procedure as well as deciding on adequate therapy for our patients.
