Abstract:
Skin cancer is a major health concern with the number of new cases of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma continuing to rise yearly and reaching pandemic proportions. Ultraviolet radiation is the major contributing risk factor for skin cancer. The expanded role of the dermatology nurse focuses on patient education and prevention to reduce the risk of skin cancer.
