    Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB) patients exhibit increased lung ventilation and work of breathing, indicating inefficient breathing mechanics. Impaired bronchial patency significantly contributes to these breathing difficulties in older adults with COB.

    Background:

    • Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB) is a prevalent respiratory condition affecting lung function.
    • Understanding the biomechanics of breathing in COB is crucial for patient management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate and compare lung ventilation and breathing biomechanics in patients with COB versus healthy individuals.
    • To identify key physiological changes associated with COB that impact respiratory function.
