Summary

Facial granuloma lesions require treatment as they do not resolve spontaneously. Surgical removal and cryotherapy offer effective, non-recurrent treatment options for facial granuloma.

Area of Science:

  • Dermatology
  • Surgical Pathology

Background:

  • Facial granuloma presents as persistent lesions unresponsive to conventional treatments like dapsone.
  • This case report focuses on evaluating therapeutic interventions for recalcitrant facial granuloma.

Observation:

  • A 48-year-old male patient presented with multiple facial granulomas of 8 years duration.
  • Previous treatment with dapsone was ineffective.

Findings:

  • Surgical excision of two lesions and liquid nitrogen cryotherapy for the remaining lesions resulted in complete resolution.
  • No recurrence was observed during a 6-month follow-up period.

Implications:

  • Facial granuloma necessitates therapeutic intervention and does not undergo spontaneous regression.
  • Surgical and cryotherapeutic approaches provide efficient and reproducible outcomes for facial granuloma management.
