Nurse-patient communication in intensive care: a low priority?
Intensive & Critical Care Nursing
|April 1, 1995
Abstract:
Nursing literature is well endowed with information supporting the importance of maintaining optimal communication between nurses and critically ill patients (Rundell 1991). There is, however, evidence to suggest that although critical care nurses are aware of the need to communicate effectively with their patients, this often does not occur (Mallett 1990).
