    Summary

    This study shows that using a specific side-to-side technique for vein-coronary anastomoses in bypass surgery yields excellent results. This method improved graft patency rates compared to previous techniques, demonstrating its effectiveness in coronary artery bypass grafting.

    Background:

    • Traditional methods for vein graft anastomosis in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) have limitations.
    • Improving graft patency and reducing operative mortality are key goals in CABG.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and outcomes of a specific end-to-side anastomosis with a side-to-side technique for additional vein-coronary anastomoses.
    • To compare the patency rates of this technique with previously used methods.

    • A retrospective analysis of 411 patients undergoing vein graft operations since April 1972.
