Abstract:
A new concept of the plane of occlusion based on anatomical landmarks has been developed. The posterior end of the plane is set by the centres of the retromolar pads, and the anterior end of the plane is at the upper lip line. These three points establish the plane of occlusion. An articulator has been developed to use this concept, which has been found to be clinically satisfactory for the construction of complete dentures.
