Treating wife abuse: an integrated model

Group treatment of wife abusers has largely focused on time-limited, structured treatment models. Drawing on a range of theories, a developmental model is presented that provides abusing men with affective education, helps them to resolve their childhood traumas, provides a therapeutic group environment for learning new problem-solving skills, and above all, emphasizes their ending violent and controlling behavior.
