Background:

Brachial plexus injuries present significant treatment challenges despite microneurosurgery advancements.
A recent Italian law mandated motorcycle helmet use, potentially altering injury patterns.

Purpose of the Study:

To analyze brachial plexus injury trends in a series of patients following the implementation of mandatory motorcycle helmet laws.
To evaluate the impact of helmet use on injury severity and assess microsurgical repair outcomes.

Main Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 49 brachial plexus injury cases (excluding tumors and thoracic outlet syndromes).
Comparison of injury severity and characteristics with pre-helmet law data.
Assessment of outcomes following microsurgical repair for specific injury types.
