Area of Science:

  • Dermatology
  • Oncology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Granulomatous slack skin (GSS) is a rare cutaneous lymphoma.
  • First described in 1973, GSS is characterized by localized elastolytic lesions and granulomatous infiltrate.

Observation:

  • Two male patients with GSS were recently observed.
  • Both patients presented with characteristic clinical features of the disease.

Findings:

  • Both patients responded favorably to interferon-alpha 2b therapy.
  • One patient achieved stable clinical remission with long-term clofazimine treatment.

Implications:

  • Interferon-alpha 2b and clofazimine show therapeutic potential for GSS.
  • Further research into treatment strategies for GSS is warranted based on these findings.
