Abstract:
Homicide and suicide data are examined for trends, patterns, and relationships to the public perception of violence. While homicide rates in poor urban-blighted areas in New Jersey are abominably high, there is no epidemic. We cannot afford to ignore the underlying factors that lead to violence.
