The injured larynx: a new surgical procedure for repair
Abstract:
This case illustrates an instance by which serious stricture of the subglottic lumen was repaired by a composite pedicle graft. A half circular portion of the normal clavicle cortical bone was incorporated in a regional full-thickness pedicle graft. A defect in the cricoid cartilage and adjacent tissues was thus repaired successfully, preserving the patient's physiologic integrity as to breathing, speaking, coughing, eating, and drinking.
