Abstract:
Living related liver donation and transplantation is becoming a widely accepted option for the treatment of some pediatric end-stage liver diseases. A multidisciplinary approach is required to provide complex medical and nursing care to the transplant patient. As morbidity and mortality of living related liver recipients continue to compare favorably to those of cadaveric liver recipients, and as the organ donor shortage continues, an increase in the number of these procedures being performed can be expected.
