Treating survivors of child sexual abuse: a strategy for reintegration

Sexual abuse survivors often present with a complex and changing symptom picture in which posttraumatic reactions are superimposed on an underlying personality disorder, a combination that makes the establishment of a secure therapeutic relationship difficult. An eclectic blend of principles and techniques is recommended in order to address both aspects of the survivor's disturbance.
