Abstract:
In chronic glomerulonephritis dysmorphic erythrocytes appear in urine sediment. In the same cases we have found changes in the morphology of erythrocytes of peripheral blood expressed in their size and colouring. In the control group, of non-renal hypertension we didn't notice any dysmorphic erythrocytes in urine as well as any changes in the morphology of erythrocytes in blood. It seems to be possible that there is common mechanism leading to dysmorphic erythrocyturia and to changes in morphology of erythrocytes in peripheral blood in chronic glomerulonephritis.
