Abstract:
Immunity to viruses reveals strength and limiting aspects of both. The role of viral antigen distribution and persistence in inducing T cell responses, in escaping from them or inducing and exhausting them in cytopathic viruses is compared with that for non-cytopathic viruses. Accordingly, vaccination may be protectively efficient, or not, and can shift the relative kinetics beneficially or, in rare cases, also in a harmful way.
