Background:

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder.
Family physicians play a crucial role in the primary care of children and adolescents.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the diagnostic and treatment approaches of family physicians for ADHD.
To understand the extent of ADHD patient care managed by family physicians.

Main Methods:

A survey was distributed to 940 family and general physicians in Kansas.
471 physicians (50.1% response rate) completed the 20-item survey on ADHD practices.

Main Results:

Most respondents regularly saw children, with over half suspecting multiple ADHD cases annually.
