Learning style theories: matching preceptors, learners, and teaching strategies in the perioperative setting
Abstract:
Individuals have unique learning styles that develop in childhood and remain constant throughout adulthood. One approach to orienting and training staff and students is to match individuals with a preceptor with a similar learning style. Benefits of matching learning styles and using appropriate teaching strategies for each learning style include decreased anxiety and increased staff and student satisfaction.
