Cryptorchism with a large abdominal mass--a challenge

The undescended testis is associated with an increased incidence of testicular malignancy. The position of the undescended testis is related to the likelihood of carcinogenesis, with the intra-abdominal testis having the highest malignant potential. We present 3 patients to illustrate this tendency and to highlight the unusual presentation as an "acute abdomen".
