Prostatectomy is a common surgical procedure for benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.
Minimizing blood loss and operating time are critical for patient outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of extracapsular pulling sutures in reducing blood loss and operative time during prostatectomy.

Main Methods:

Extracapsular pulling sutures were placed from the bladder neck (4 and 8 o'clock positions) to the perineum before enucleation.
The technique was applied in 25 cases of prostatectomy.

The removable pulling sutures significantly reduced intraoperative and postoperative blood loss.
