Abstract:
PCR has brought important progress to forensic medicine. It has provided access to various effective, rapid and simple analytic techniques. It has distinctly increased the range of analyzable samples and comparably improved chances to identify a criminal. This had consequences for laboratories as well as police departments and even physicians that occasionally cooperate with legal agencies.
