Atypical cleft of the palate: a report
1Division of Plastic Surgery, Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Abstract:
Our early experience with a rare atypical cleft of the soft palate in a 15-month-old female infant is presented. The cleft extended obliquely across the soft palate from the retromolar region on the left to the base of an intact uvula. Surgical management included a three-layer closure and lengthening of the left side of the soft palate. Close follow-up and reporting of the patient's progress are planned.
