Background:

Severe male factor infertility and previous failed fertilization present significant challenges in achieving pregnancy.
Assisted fertilization techniques are crucial for couples with these reproductive issues.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in cases of severe male factor infertility.
To assess ICSI's success rates in patients with a history of failed fertilization.

Main Methods:

A prospective observational study was conducted at a private infertility clinic.
Sixty-nine patients underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) with primary intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Patient cohorts included severe male factor infertility and previous fertilization failures.

Out of 967 collected oocytes, 785 were microinjected, achieving a 52% normal fertilization (2PN) rate.
Twenty-five patients conceived, resulting in a 39% pregnancy rate per embryo transfer.

Conclusions:

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a primary treatment choice for assisted fertilization in infertile couples.
ICSI demonstrates high fertilization and pregnancy rates with a low risk of abnormalities.
