Abstract:
Metabolism scans of the brain measure the quantity of energy consumed by parts of the brain while performing a cognitive task. This quantity of energy is wrongly considered to represent the amount of data processing by the related parts of the brain. Thus, a misleading conception of the relative parts of the cerebral hemispheres in performing cognitive tasks is created.
