Abstract:
The study has revealed that in cases of an extremely severe course of viral hepatitis B and in persons susceptible to the development of renal encephalopathy resistance to specific antibodies of antilymphocytic gamma-globulin develops. This is manifested by a decrease in the titer of antilymphocytic gamma-globulin in the test of the specific inhibition of E-rosette formation with the patient's lymphocytes, previously incubated with antibodies. The test is of prognostic importance and can be recommended for immunological monitoring with a view to controlling the course of the disease.
