Summary

Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies are frequently found in patients with abnormal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. Testing for TPO antibodies is valuable in diagnosing thyroid dysfunction, especially when TSH levels are irregular.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the prevalence of thyroid autoantibodies in individuals with normal and abnormal TSH levels.
  • To assess the diagnostic utility of TPO antibody testing in relation to TSH levels.

  • Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies were detected using radioimmunoassay (RIA) and agglutination methods.
