Patient fall prevention--a structured approach

This article describes a strategy for prevention of falls in elderly patients in Harrogate Health Care Trust. The strategy was developed following a 6-month survey of factors contributing to falls in the elderly unit within the Trust. The accident prevention programme is still in its infancy but the initial results are encouraging.
