Mitotic figures, including abnormal ones, are present in some atypical endometrial changes. Their presence alone is insufficient for diagnosing clear-cell carcinoma, especially in reproductive-aged women.
Area of Science:
- Gynecologic pathology
- Reproductive endocrinology
- Oncologic diagnostics
Background:
- Florid atypical endometrial changes can mimic malignancy.
- Distinguishing benign reactive changes from neoplastic processes is crucial.
