[The role of current experience in developing the theory of internal organ pathology in trauma]

The data available on the frequency and pattern of visceral damage due to battlefield Afghan and other traumas, specificity of their clinical and pathogenetic classification, management of the wounded contributed to current conceptions on traumatic visceral pathology. Fundamental knowledge obtained with Afghan traumas develops basic ideas formed during the World War II, enriching them with current diagnostic, pathogenetic and therapeutic findings. These observations on the battlefield trauma follow the laws inherent for disaster medicine.
