Summary
This study reveals an abundant prostatic nerve supply in a 10-year-old boy, detailing nerve pathways in the cranial and caudal prostate. A dense periprostatic nerve network and thick urethral nerve fibers were identified.
Area of Science:
- Urology
- Neuroanatomy
Background:
- Understanding the detailed innervation of the prostate is crucial for surgical procedures and understanding lower urinary tract symptoms.
- Previous studies have provided general descriptions, but a comprehensive, high-resolution mapping of the prostatic nerve network, especially in pediatric cases, is limited.
