Summary

An early rise in biotinidase activity in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was observed during Staphylococcus aureus meningitis in a patient with subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). This suggests a potential role for CSF biotinidase in managing opioid neuropeptides during central nervous system inflammation.
