Background:

  • Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting motor control.
  • Apomorphine is a dopamine agonist used to treat PD motor fluctuations.
  • Cognitive impairments are common in PD, but treatment effects on cognition are not fully understood.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the effects of a single apomorphine dose on cognitive processing in Parkinson's disease patients.
  • To examine changes in auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) and visual evoked potentials (VEPs) following apomorphine administration.
  • To correlate electrophysiological changes with behavioral measures of cognitive function.

  • Auditory ERPs and VEPs were recorded in 8 PD patients before and after a single apomorphine dose.
