Background:

  • Chondrosarcoma of the rib is an uncommon bone tumor.

Observation:

  • A 49-year-old male presented with a right anterior chest wall mass and pain.
  • Imaging revealed a chondrosarcoma involving the right 6th rib.
  • The patient underwent resection of the 5th to 7th ribs.

Findings:

  • Radical excision of the affected rib segment was performed.
  • A chest wall defect was reconstructed using Marlex mesh.
  • No evidence of tumor recurrence was observed at 6 years and 1 month post-surgery.
