Summary

Nephrogenic adenoma, a rare urothelial response to chronic irritation, can occur throughout the urinary tract. This study details a case of nephrogenic adenoma found within a bladder diverticulum.

Background:

Nephrogenic adenoma is a rare benign neoplastic proliferation of urothelial cells.
It arises as a response to chronic irritation or infection within the urinary tract.
Commonly found in the bladder and urethra, it has also been reported in the renal pelvis, ureter, and ileal conduits.

Observation:

This report presents a unique case of nephrogenic adenoma.
The lesion was identified within a bladder diverticulum, an uncommon location.
The patient's history involved chronic irritation, consistent with known etiologies.

Findings:

The study confirms nephrogenic adenoma can occur in bladder diverticula.
Histopathological examination revealed characteristic features of nephrogenic adenoma.
This finding expands the known anatomical distribution of this rare lesion.

Implications:

This case broadens the differential diagnosis for lesions in bladder diverticula.
Awareness of this presentation is crucial for accurate diagnosis and management.
Further research may elucidate specific risk factors for occurrence in diverticula.
