    Background:

    • Addisonian pernicious anemia (PA) is an autoimmune condition usually diagnosed after age 50.
    • PA is associated with gastric autoimmunity in immunocompetent individuals.
    • PA prevalence is significantly higher in patients with multiple myeloma (10-fold) and primary immunoglobulin deficiency (250-fold).

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the relationship between pernicious anemia and specific underlying conditions.
    • To explore the development of atrophic gastritis in pernicious anemia patients with primary immunoglobulin deficiency or multiple myeloma.
