[Zona pellucida antibodies determined by the passive hemagglutination reaction--I. Methods]

Antibodies against the zona pellucida can block the fertilization process. The authors elaborated therefore a feasible examination method for the needs of the Clinic of Immunology of Reproduction of the Gynaecological and Obstetric Department in Plzen. Using three different extraction solubilization methods and chromatographic partition, they obtained a total of 11 porcine antigenic zonal fractions (from 13.2-114 kDa) which formed the basis for a passive haemagglutination reaction. As a control component they used antiserum of immunized female rabbits. A large number of experiments became the basis for examination of sera of patients with reproductive disorders.
