Abstract:
A goat immunized with lacto-N-difucohexaose I (Fucalpha1-2Galbeta1-3GlcNAcbeta1-3Galbeta1-4Glc) conjugated to polylysine (see article) produces antibody directed against the oligosaccharide. The antibody specifically precipitates Leb blood group substance and specifically binds lacto-N-difucohexaose I (Ka approximately equal to 4 X 10(6)M-1). Antibody purified by affinity chromatography is a 6.8S immunoglobulin of 158,000 +/- 6,000 molecular weight.
