Manufacturers' support policies database: updated information

This article is an update of our Special Report, "Manufacturers' Support Policies," published in the September 1992 issue of Health Devices (21[9]). In that article, we discussed the factors to consider when evaluating support alternatives and manufacturers' support policies. We also introduced our Manufacturers' Support Policies Database and listed the questions we had posed to manufacturers in our Manufacturers' Support Policies Questionnaire, along with a summary of the responses that we have received by the time of publication. In this update, we remind readers about this database and provide an updated list of the manufacturers that have responded to our questionnaire, along with the product lines for which they have responded; Health Devices System and SELECTplus members can view the responses in the database on ECRInet, ECRI's online information system.
