    Summary

    Immunsera targeting methylated bovine serum albumin (M-BSA) reduced delayed hypersensitivity in mice. This protective effect was highly specific to M-BSA, not observed with native or modified bovine serum albumin.

    Background:

    • Delayed hypersensitivity is an immune response mediated by T-cells.
    • Bovine serum albumin (BSA) can act as an antigen, triggering immune responses.
    • Methylated BSA (M-BSA) is a modified form of BSA that can induce specific immune reactions.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effect of antisera against M-BSA on the development of delayed hypersensitivity.
    • To determine the specificity of this immunotherapeutic effect.

    Main Methods:

    • Mice were inoculated with antisera against M-BSA prior to sensitization with M-BSA.
    • Delayed hypersensitivity reactions were measured after M-BSA challenge.
    • Control groups received antisera against native or modified BSA.
