Background:

Alloplastic implants are used for orbital floor fracture repair.
Infection is a potential complication following orbital implant surgery.

Observation:

Ten patients experienced infections after receiving silicone or Gelfilm implants for orbital floor repair.
Infections arose from various sources including dental procedures, respiratory infections, and drug use.
Implant removal was necessary in all cases due to infection or abscess formation.

Findings:

Commonly identified pathogens included Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, Serratia marcescens, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Severe cicatricial ectropion of the lower eyelid was a significant complication in three patients.
