[Neonatal hepatocholecystectomy because of an incarcerated umbilical hernia]

Abstract:
Two newborns are described, both with a hernia of the umbilical cord, which contained a piece of liver and gallbladder united to the normal liver by a thin pedicle. One of them showed typical features of Beckwith syndrome. In one patient the gallbladder was removed together with the accessory liver lobe, in the other, the accessory liver lobe was excised, and the gallbladder replaced into the abdominal cavity.
