Abstract:
We describe an 85-year-old man with a one-year history of right hemiplegia presenting with bullous pemphigoid affecting only the paralysed side. The diagnosis was confirmed by histology and indirect immunofluorescence. Direct immunofluorescence study was negative. He responded to low dose prednisolone therapy, 30 mg daily. To our knowledge, this is the second case report of bullous pemphigoid affecting only the hemiplegic side.
