Treatment of vaginal dysplasia with loop excision: report of five cases

Five patients with vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia were treated with loop electrosurgical excision procedure on abnormal tissue under general anesthesia; there was no intraoperative or postoperative morbidity. Surgery was performed rapidly and with no blood loss. Pathologic specimens were adequate in all cases; one unsuspected invasive vaginal cancer was found. Further study of this technique seems warranted.
