Summary

Interleukin 6 (IL-6) produced by mesothelioma cells may cause paraneoplastic amyloid A (AA) amyloidosis. This study shows IL-6 induces liver cells to produce serum AA (SAA), linking tumor-derived IL-6 to AA amyloidosis.
