A pediatric Trach Card: transforming research into practice

Nursing literature has advocated a change in the traditional "resistance" method of suctioning artificial airways in children to a shallow suctioning technique. This article critiques previous attempts at operationalizing the procedural changes and offers a practical, cost-effective tool--the "Trach Card"--to change clinical practice.
